Description
Herbert Peter, architect and senior scientist at the Academy of Fine Arts, carried out numerous virtual reconstructions of synagogues destroyed under National Socialism at the Vienna University of Technology. He has also devoted intensive research to stencil painting in synagogues and other sacred and representative buildings. In his lecture, he presents the various designs of synagogues around 1900 and explains the practical side of wall painting: the production of the stencils and the individual elaborate work steps required to execute the beautifully colorful patterns.
